Durham & Cathedral

Durham was a really cool medieval village with tiny winding streets leading up to the Cathedral. It was by far the largest cathedral building we visited (except for maybe Westminster? which we only walked past). Apparently when the site for the church was chosen and it was built, the entire town was then built around it. There wasn't a town or village there prior to that. It seems like most evenings we lucked out and even if it had been rainy that day we got enough dry skies for great sunsets.

The Hotel where we stayed that night was an old Jacobean Manor House that has been converted!
